Evaluation Theory and Practice is the only journal in the Czech Republic that is systematically focused on evaluations.

The main mission of the journal is to create a space for professional discourse about evaluation issues in the Czech and Slovak Republics and thus help to expand the evaluation capabilities between commissioners, evaluators and other stakeholders. The aim of the journal is to disseminate adaptable evaluation practices and knowledge as well as to communicate the results of evaluation-oriented research activities.

Evaluation Theory and Practice provides an opportunity for publishing original scientific, previously unpublished texts related to evaluation methodologies, evaluation theories, approaches and studies. The journal provides information on current topics of evaluation and contributes to sharing practices and raising standards of evaluation.

The journal is primarily designed for civil servants, professionals in public institutions, staff in implementing structures of European Investment and Structural Funds, independent evaluators, educational institutions and non-profit organizations. A significant readership is academics and university students in degree programs in which evaluations are applied (public policy and public administration, sociology, social policy and social work, education, economics, criminology, addictology, regional studies and more).

Evaluation Theory and Practice respects and fulfills the mission of the Czech Evaluation Society in relation to evaluative capacity building in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
